MIPS Technologies offers the widest array of state-of-the-art analog and mixed-signal IP solutions in the world, with single-function IP and subsystem cores for USB and HDMI connectivity, data conversion, power management, audio and RF/wireless. With deep analog expertise built over more than a decade, MIPS Technologies provides a comprehensive and diverse library of IP cores proven in today's leading processes across a wide array of foundries. MIPS Technologies supports scores of merchant and captive processes from more than 15 different wafer manufacturers-with generations ranging from 0.18 micron to 45nm. MIPS' extensive portfolio of advanced analog and mixed-signal IP solutions enables designers of next-generation SoCs to integrate silicon-proven functionality previously available only from large integrated device manufacturers (IDMs).

Connectivity IP Solutions

  • USB PHY - the broadest IP portfolio in the market with silicon-proven and certified solutions that have compact area and the lowest power consumption backed by deep USB expertise and professional engineering support. MIPS has more than 90 USB PHY IP customers with more than 200 USB2.0 PHY instantiations, more than 30 USB2.0 certified products in mass-production and more than 200 million USB2.0 chips produced to-date. MIPS was the first in the market to certify USB in TSMC 65LP, and first to launch USB using 2.5V transistors, USB in 45nm technology and USB using 1.8V transistors.

  • Embedded Peripherals - an ever-expanding portfolio of silicon-proven and certified IP for a broad range of applications, backed by a dedicated team that works closely with customers to support the development process from evaluation to production. MIPS has more than 80 USB customers worldwide and more than 30 USB2.0 certified products in mass production. More than 200 million chips have been produced with Chipidea USB2.0 solutions. MIPS Technologies was the first in the market to certify USB IP in TSMC 65LP, and was also first to launch a USB OTG controller, USB using 2.5V transistors, a HSIC PHY and an LPM controller.

1 RF and Wireless Connectivity IP Solutions - a comprehensive portfolio of RF and wireless connectivity solutions backed by a dedicated team that supports the development process from evaluation to production. Individual components include key RF building blocks, each offering low power consumption, high integration and high performance. MIPS’ complete solutions are optimized for embedded integration with minimum external components and low power consumption.

1 Power Management IP Solutions - “plug and play” power management solutions that are ready to integrate into an SoC or a System-in-Package (SiP), enabling developers to focus on the digital differentiation in their designs. MIPS’ highly programmable and flexible power management IP can optimize SoC and SiP performance, power efficiency, cost and size. MIPS Technologies has proven experience—more than 10 years spent designing and implementing power management blocks into complete PMUs, and millions of ICs in production.

Audio IP Solutions - the most complete family of portable, easy-to-integrate audio IP on the market. This includes the most advanced high-performance Hi-Fi audio technology and enabling audio functions like Class-D drivers, parametric equalization and automatic level control usually only available in costly standalone ICs. MIPS Technologies’ Class D audio IP is optimized for power and area, delivering Hi-Fi performance and efficiency measured at greater than 90 percent. MIPS’ solutions are backed by a dedicated team with more than 10 years of proven experience that supports the development process from evaluation to production.

Data Conversion IP Solutions - a complete portfolio of silicon-proven single blocks and complete analog front end (AFE) solutions for consumer electronics and communications. MIPS Technologies has more than 11 years’ experience designing data conversion IP, and continuously evolves its state-of-the-art market-leading IP cores. In 2005, the company offered the first silicon-proven designs in 90nm, and in 2007 offered 65nm silicon-proven platforms. Now developers have access to the company’s silicon-proven high speed ADCs and DACs for UWB and Blue-ray Disc™. MIPS Technologies provides seamless integration of hard macros onto SoCs, backed by engineer-to-engineer support.
